Quoting: amplified2 This is like running around and screaming that the snow will be completely gone in the Northern states by June...we may not see more till fall.... So yes, if they did not plant any more wheat this spring we should worry...but they did... and harvest is almost here Have you looked at how the American spring and winter wheat planting totals etc look? Canada's winter wheat harvest was 55% less than normal this year, the US was 24-45% below normal depending on region. As of a few weeks ago Iowa was only 6% planted. P.s. the freaky derechos, odd freezes and etc the last month of weather has consisted of in farm country isn't going to help this. I know in general and especially on this site the time preference people show for when to act on things is pretty immediate. A lot of people here don't understand slow moving doom and can't visualize it. This doesn't make it less real or less capable of wrecking our shit worse than fast moving doom. The issue with food supply doom is it's tied in with fuel supply and monetary doom. As things degrade, the farmers ability to even effectively harvest or get a crop through to harvest drops with everything else. The fact that ldspreparedness site is out of things at all isn't a good sign in itself. The fact that they don't see having wheat again until October also means that we're way more than 10 weeks from any significant inputs that will start back filling current supply. In ordinary years this wouldn't be a problem. We haven't had an ordinary year in a couple years. Gonna be a bumper crop this year though. A lot more rainfall already. |

"This isn’t cyclical. This is seismic," Menker said during a special meeting of the UN Security Council. "Even if the war were to end tomorrow, our food security problem isn’t going away anytime soon without concerted action." besides it's not the only thing causing food shortages... normies need to start paying attention... Russians have created a save passage throughout the mines but Ukrainians are blocking the ships. BTW, there is no problem with obtaining Russian wheat if you are a Russian friendly state or if you pay for it in Rubbles. The whole thing is just an excuse for the shortage-scam they are going to pull off. |

You know that if you get too much rain at the wrong time it can actually destroy wheat crops right? That's kinda an important thing to know if you're commenting on farm stuff. I freely acknowledge the limits of my personal knowledge in this respect and it kinda sucks that I do because people who know way less speak way more authoritatively drowning out the people who are honest about their knowledge level. What I can say because i personally know people in all these areas is that the harvest is going to be fucked to non-existent in eastern Washington and Oregon, California, Utah, and a few other states. Kansas and Missouri also look pretty shitty. Minnesota and Iowa too. The entire American west all the way into decent chunks of the Midwest is dick deep in a 1200 year drought. The regions that don't have droughts have been getting too much water, freezes, and intermittent extreme weather all of which is going to hurt production anywhere from mildly to severely. I personally know people in the areas I was specific on. I'm not speculating in those areas. Now there's a bunch of other things you would need to understand why this means we're in trouble. Things like 1. Due to decisions Trump and other presidents made china and other nations can freely buy directly from farmers and corporations off the domestic market without any oversight or limits put on them by the US government. 2. The United States of America and Canada both no longer have national strategic grain reserves. Matter of fact Obama sold off the last of our strategic grain reserve to china almost a decade ago. 3. The FTC and others have allowed collosal monopolies to be assembled in the commercial grain storage and processing markets meaning that corporations directly control where when and how much grain gets released to who at what price as well as how much farmers are paid for grain and livestock harvests. In real dollars farmers are being paid less than ever for their harvest giving them strong disincentive to plant as much. 4. There's real fertilizer equipment parts and fuel shortages which are getting worse. You combine these things with everything else including "covid" (and regulatory bullshit) shutting down a lot of food processing stuff as well as some other dirty tricks means that harvest issues which wouldn't have even affected prices 2 decades ago can and will make actual Americans starve to death this year. To say people like you are wrong is an understatement. roguetechie |

People really are going to starve and there's really not going to be enough food production this year to feed everyone. When someone says scam it implies that there really is enough but they're going to act like there isn't enough anyway. This is not the case. Our elites are actively a level of stupid that has resulted in them creating a genuine food crisis. The things they're doing now are only going to make it worse. Do not take this situation lightly as no one is coming to our rescue. We really will be allowed to starve if we don't take this seriously roguetechie |
