One increased cost that can be written off is Council Tax, using Section 13A of the Local Govt & Finance Act. I would encourage as many people as possible to start making applications as a direct protest. If your local council refuses to accept the claim, it can be taken further to an independent tribunal. Or maybe that construction becomes a council employees new home or extention?...
