Petrol ($9.54/gal) and diesel ($10.34/gal) hit record high price in the UK with drivers feeling 'never-before-seen pain at the pumps'
Petrol and diesel prices have reached record highs, according to new figures.
Statistics from data firm Experian Catalist show the average cost of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts on Tuesday was 167.6p (US$9.54/gallon)

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) warned that retailers could be fined if it launches a formal investigation into the sector.

The previous record price for petrol of 167.3p per litre was set on March 22, the day before a 5p cut in fuel duty was implemented by Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
Diesel prices continue to climb to new highs, reaching an average of 180.9p per litre (US$10.34/gallon) on Tuesday.

Don't forget, that a UK gallon and a US gallon are different.
1 UK (imperial) gallon equals 4.546 liters or 160 fluid ounces
Whilst a US gallon equals 3.785 liters or 128 fluid ounces
