Hope he gets arrested and they take their time getting him in front of a judge for a bail hearing. A few days in small town lock up might be good for him.

The killer, 18, started posting on Facebook “approximately 30 minutes before reaching the school,” Abbott said of the teen, who did not appear to have a criminal record.

“The first post .. said, ‘I’m going to shoot my grandmother.’

The second post was, ‘I shot my grandmother,'” Abbott said.

“The third post, maybe less than 15 minutes before arriving at the school was, ‘I’m going to shoot an elementary school.'”


Abbott also confirmed Wednesday that officers had first “engaged with the gunman” after he crashed outside the school.

Still, the teen was able to get in through a backdoor and into a classroom, where he slaughtered the kids and their two teachers.

Officers from numerous departments then “converged on that classroom” and a “Border Patrol officer killed the gunman.”

On Tuesday, he shot and wounded his grandmother at the home he shared with her and his grandfather — a convicted felon who is forbidden to be around guns — then headed to Robb Elementary.

After a shootout with law enforcement, he still made it into the school, where he “began shooting anyone that was in his way,” Lt. Christopher Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety told NBC’s “Today.”

I only have a single question- WAS THIS FAMILY- Grandparents, Mother, Kid/Shooter LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS. So far that question has not be asked and yet he was in an area heavy with illegals.

While is has been said that he lived in another state for awhile, then cnn says he was bullied as a kid. That he was in HS and dropped out there is also contradicting info. on cnn saying he was upset he didn't graduate and that is why he killed his grandmother. I saw an interview with people who worked with him and said he has violent tendencies specifically towards girls/women, then you see cnn info. that says he was "bullied". TOO MUCH CONTRADICTING INFO.

I’ve read he is a legal citizen

Why do people think this is a gun control issue? This is an issue about saving people's lives - especially children in a school which should be safe. This is no time to be talking about guns control. the time is for mourning those who lost their lives and finding a way to prevent this from happening again.

An armed and well-trained teacher in that school could have saved lives - something that liberal democrats -who often claim to care about children - seem to never understand.

Any chance you remember where you read it? I suspect that HE was an anchor baby because I read his father lives in Mexico. Also wonder if he was involved with the drug cartels since a police officer on the scene stated that they were familiar with him.

Gov. Abbott sign the law that teachers could be armed.

Guess that school elected not to exercise it.

Juan Alvarez, 62, who has been in a relationship with the shooter’s mother for about a year and lives with her, said Ramos left the home about two months ago after he and his mom had an intense argument after she disconnected the Wi-Fi. The two would often fight, he said.

“He was kind of a weird one. I never got along with him. I never socialized with him. He doesn’t talk to nobody,” Alvarez said. “When you try to talk to him he’d just sit there and walk away.”

The shooter’s grandfather told ABC News he had no idea his grandson had purchased rifles or that they were in his house.

Because the grandfather, 72-year-old Rolando Reyes, is a felon, he cannot live in a house with firearms, according to the news outlet. If he had known, Reyes would have turned his grandson in, he told ABC News.

In my opinion, guns are easier to use as a scapegoat than trucks, knives, and fertilizer when people want to -do something-, either out of genuine pain and concern or out of theater.

It's much easier to try to remove guns than to look into the awkward and unflattering bits of human nature that lead to violence like this.
