I heard a lot of people dont like the taste of rabbit meat. Id rather eat squirrel. Squirrels are everywhere and it tastes like dark meat chicken

I had rabbit when I was a kid. One that I shot with a 22. It tasted gamey. I think you'd want to pressure cook it for tenderness.

You will have to supplement your diet with other meat. Read up on rabbit starvation.

rabbit is healthy food, but not a good source for fats as it is very lean.

of all the rabbit i have eaten, young cotton tail was the most tender. Everything else i have tried was sorta tough meat.

I think what they do is have a heavy weighted SUPER SHARP CLEAVER. and CUT the rabbit's head off in one fast HIT.

TOTALLY GUILLOTINE, only it's really a big knife and your strong arm and hitting it hard for a fast kill.

I am considering rabbit as an addon to the homestead, I would suggest first adding quail. The jumbo browns grow very quickly and they are very easy to process for meat. They are also pretty cheap to raise.

If things got dicey, it might be best to slaughter all chickens because of that, and freeze them if electricity is still available.

raise rex for fertilizers, companionship and to sell locally, would never think about harming one - others can do what they will but I'd rather starve than harm one
