Is it feasible to sell you home and live in a van?
what do i have to do?

you just get a panel van?
throw a mattress in the back.
do i get a kerosene heater?

assuming i get rid of everything, then what...throw in enough clothes for a few days.

i would travel around the country for a couple of years and paint paintings.

50 states. x 3 paintings. that's probably at least a year and a half.

i guess a money card and visa is all i need?

i duno. its a big step. but i just can't keep sitting here waiting for the end.

join a YMCA nationwide thing so i can clean up when i hit a lot of towns.

not sure what i'm overlooking?

It's hard to get relaxed to sleep because you always worry about someone breaking in or someone calling the cops on you

looks good on paper but you'll regret it

Don't do it. It'll make you want to commit suicide after a few months. Look up "negative psychological effects" for that type of living.

You need an address for vehicle registration. Get a post office box for several years and change your address with the dmv. Make sure you can renew your registration, bot that you have to rrally, but to avoid the damn hassles!

Re: Is it feasible to sell you home and live in a van?
I run all my electric off my solar panel set up in my van. Which includes the cheap diesel heater, fridge, induction stove, instapot, ps4, projector, lights, fan, power tools ...ect

I don't live in it though. Its a white cargo van used for stealth camping if I get bored. It just looks like a work van.

I have thought about doing the van thing full time. Just for fun mostly and not because it could be cheaper. Still might.

If I owned a home I would rent it out or rbnb it. And move back if I ever felt like it.

I did that also with my wife and toured the country in 1977 in a paneled Dodge Van, it was awesome. BUT regular gas was .65 cents a gallon.

Re: Is it feasible to sell you home and live in a van?
certainly if you sell your home, you can afford an RV (used) so you would have a bathroom, shower and kitchen, AC/heat - and a place to paint (with a view) ... why would you even consider less ...

if you are moving from state to state, your gas expenses should be that bad - compared to a panel van - that gets blown around in the wind and trucks

make it a good experience

Here is where youtube can be your friend. There are many different channels just for what you want to do. If it was me, I'd look at a semi cab or a school bus. The guy who mentioned the semi cab is a smart idea.

Put your furniture in a locked room downstairs, then rent out your home.

And live in a van.

Don't go too far though, in case your house needs miscellaneous repairs.

Should pay off nicely.

And a camper van that gets maybe 12 mpg and cannot make you any money or count as a deductible is good?
