Have you formed community groups to foster bartering now, not after SHTF? You need to PLAN, and you need to do it NOW! Having a community group focused on what to do when the time comes will help everyone survive. You need communications, and a shared band plan for multiple levels of congruence to deal with infiltrators.

Who in the group will act as law enforcement/militia, who will grow and tend to food production. Who will coordinate communications? These are things that need to be done BEFORE shit goes down. After the fact will be much harder to accomplish.

Obviously you haven’t googled prices here in the US. I’m in the food biz & can tell you prices have tripled. A case of 40 lbs of chicken breast was $1.03/lb 3 & 1/2 yrs ago, it is now $3.47/lb. To do business right now, costs double in all sectors, easily.

I have friends that live there as well. Just bc it is cheaper there doesn’t mean it is or should be the same here. The value of the dollar has been decreasing for some time now. Many expats are finding other counties to live in to stretch the US money they do have.

In order to prepare for what's coming, build a group of locals that have skills. Document skills sets and assign tasks, help each other out. Support your militia types as they will act as law enforcement when the rule of law is gone. Develop your own useful skills, whatever others find useful. Trade will be conducted by how helpful you are to others. Growing food, farming animals, hunting/trapping, foraging, repairing equipment, building shelters. This will happen regardless of participation, and those who participate will have in much easier.

Basically the thought is what to do if the government no longer functions. What services will be needed, like who's going to volunteer to put out fires, ect... If we ALL did this we would be much better off. Most city folk can't even understand the concept though.

Many of these things don't apply to those in the city. If you live in a big city chances are your government is already compromised.

Where do you recommend? I'll be in Playa for a month just to get away for a bit. But I've been to Mexico at least 30 times. It's a large and varied country with many nice places to live.
