The Smallpox vaccine, when fresh in the system, gives 85% protection from Monkeypox, on average.

However, if you had that shot more than 20 years ago (hint:you did, unless you are one of about a thousand special individuals...) then the efficacy has waned greatly. At 40 years, you functionally have no coverage you can count on at all.

So, the answer to that question is yes, but honestly, NO.

On the other hand, Monkeypox required an animal bite or scratch, or VERY close and prolonged physical contact, with an infected person.
