The experiments do seem hokey with no real follow-up. That said, I've heard enough on other various programs that I can believe something weird goes on there, and the show is entertaining enough. The laser thing in the most recent episode seemed crazy, I'm not sure how one would fake that beyond CGI, which I don't think the show has the budget or resources for. The cows also did seem agitated, but I don't know anything about cows or how easy it is to rile them up.
