^^Yup..Scorpion was another pre SubSafe casualty. Seems they would have gained enough experience in WW2 to have avoided these type accidents.^^

This is just as tragic as the Kursk.

The bottom line is that once you join the military; be you male or female, you are expendable. It doesn't matter your rank, how much it costs to train you - you are a pawn. You will be moved around the global chess board. Sacrificed at the whim of TPTB at the drop of a hat. The only real mitigating factor is social status before you join up. The higher up you are in the social strata the less danger you will be exposed to.
