I thought Vangelis died years and years ago. I am a huge fan of his and the Blade Runner soundtrack in particular. I thought that at some level that's why he didn't do the music for Blade Runner 2049. [ link to www.theguardian.com (secure)] LR No, he wasn't asked to do the 2049 soundtrack since his recent style was more orchestral and would not fit the film.
