AARON RUSSO IGNORED at the Oscars??
his death was not announced as is the tradition every year..

Academy Betrays One of Its Own

By Rob Kirby

Some say love it is a river that drowns the tender reed………..

So how does an American Patriot - a guy who won a Grammy, a Tony and an Emmy – who introduced motion picture audiences to the iconic Bette Midler producing films like "The Rose”, along with the unforgettable “Trading Places” starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd - not get a mention at the Oscars – televised Feb. 24, 2008 - having passed, untimely of cancer at the age 64, on August 24, 2007?

You can’t figure it out either? Please, Tell Me More:

Some say love it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed….

Well, if that wasn’t enough, along the way this self-made-entrepreneur was a driving force in the music business, where he helped created and managed The Manhattan Transfer, introduced to America many legendary performers, such as Led Zeppelin, whom he brought to America for the first time.

Some say love it is a hunger an endless aching need…….

And let’s not forget his films were nominated for six Academy Awards, as well as seven Golden Globes [winning 3].

Could it be that Aaron Russo’s name was purposely omitted from the televised list of departed luminaries because he had the guts to take on the establishment? Was he slighted because he he wrote, produced, and directed a feature film/documentary titled America: Freedom to Fascism, billed as an exposé questioning the legality / constitutionality of the IRS and the Federal Reserve?

Has Hollywood finally become ‘the ministry of truth’ – a group of glamorous tools shilling for the money spinning banks?

I say love it is a flower and you it's only seed………

Aaron Russo was an American patriot.

It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance….

Maybe Aaron Russo was snubbed because he had the audacity to rebuke Nick Rockefeller?

Rockefeller once asked Russo if he was interested in joining the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) but he rejected the invitation, saying he had no interest in "enslaving the people" to which Rockefeller coldly questioned why he cared about the "serfs."

It's the dream afraid of waking

that never takes the chance…….

Perhaps this is why Aaron Russo ran for politics. Maybe couldn’t bear to sit back and watch what was happening to country and fellow countrymen?

It's the one who won't be taken who cannot seem to give and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live…….

Aaron Russo lived life large and his conscience was his compass. In 1998 he ran in the Republican party primary for the governor of Nevada. He came in second in the primary, winning 25.9% of the vote in a four-way race. He then endorsed the Democratic candidate, Las Vegas mayor, Jan Laverty Jones, who lost to Republican Kenny Guinn.

When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long……

In 2004 Russo ran for the Libertarian Party's nomination to run for the President of the United States. At the time, Russo claimed he was running because he feared the United States was "heading to totalitarianism. I have a sincere belief [in] the Constitution and Bill of Rights as envisioned by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Ben Franklin. Unfortunately, neither political party respects the vision of our Founding Fathers, and these documents have been relegated to the dustbin”.

and you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong……

Perhaps what both bothered and motivated Aaron Russo at the same time - more than anything -were these infamous words of Central Banking luminary - James Paul Warburg – speaking before the United States Senate in 1950, where he said,

“We shall have World Government, whether or not we like it. The only question is whether World Government will be achieved by conquest or consent.”

Rest in peace Aaron Russo; while a slight from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science shows that their taste really is all-in-their-mouths – your legacy will always be your generosity and contributions to humanity.

Just remember in the winter

far beneath the bitter snows lies the seed that with the sun's love in the spring becomes the rose

No doubt the man cared deeply for others, for the truth. He was brave more than soldiers in our wars. To ignore him like that is telling of how base and ignoble the people in power truly are.
veracious common sense
