The Tsar Bomb when it went off was 50mt ... though it could have been dialed up to 100mt. The only reason they only had it explode at 1/2 power was so that the aircraft crew had a "chance" of living (which they only put at 50/50). It was HUGE!! the largest explosion by man ever.

For those weapons to be as powerful as those Russian are claiming they would have to be bombs considerably bigger than the Tsar Bomb. How much bigger? Got a dart board?

At a minimum I would say AT LEAST 500mt, 10 times the power of the Tsar Bomb when it went off, if such a thing is possible. Actually for the damage that is being claimed that could be done by just TWO of them along the 1500 miles from Florida to Maine it would have to be a much bigger, a multiple bigger than just 10x.

A bomb of that extreme size, let alone a couple of them, could potentially catch parts of the atmosphere on fire. That has always been a theoretical concept but no explosion that man has ever done has been of a size that it could accomplish that ... but a bomb of say 2500mt to 5000mt? That might do it, catch the atmosphere on fire. A man made regional dinosaur size extinction event so to speak.

Has man previously advanced and then blown himself back to a stone age existence via such weapons? Interesting question to think about.
