My mother passed away this morning

My condolences. I'm trying to have the same attitude as you, but I'm not doing so great right now.

My 75 year old mother has been living with us for nearly 7 years. She'd been struggling this past month, but yesterday was the National Road Yard Sale and she really wanted to go. She had been looking forward to it for awhile.

We had a nice day with the whole family and she found herself a few treasures. She thanked me for taking her when we got home and said she had a good time. Two hours later we found her lying on the floor unresponsive and her lips were blue. My husband did CPR until the police and then the ambulance arrived. They couldn't save her. She passed away at 9:48. I know she's no longer suffering, but I'm lost. Dinner was exceptionally hard this evening. She was supposed to be there and she wasn't. This hurts so bad.

I hope I didn't ruin your thread. Reading your outlook makes me want to try harder to have the same.

Aw hon! Prayers for you and yours, said and sent. Going this way is harder on the family because it was so quick, but so much easier on your mom. It sounds like she had a great day before she was called home. Hang on to that. There aren't words or actions that will make it better, just time. It will become a lighter load in time. Truly.

Heaven acquired a real asset this morning as my mother has now passed on. She was an unknown legend, couldn't have asked for a better mom. She had just about every positive characteristic a human could have in one form or another.
Today this home is a place of sadness with relief - she will be greatly missed but was really suffering and had great pain, and she now has eternal joy and is reunited with my father.
I again just want to thank you for the prayers and well wishes, it meant a lot to me and the family.
