Never removed the spurs. My boys were friendly and I didn’t have any problems with them fighting or anything like that

That’s good, our rooster has had my legs bleeding from those spurs. But not anymore after I almost killed him a couple times.

Had 3 roos- the smallest one, a bantam, was always getting boot therapy due to the fact that he always tried attacking me. Napoleon complex!

My other 2 roos would fight each other, one day I saw that the alpha roo took it upon himself to de spur the beta roo. It was very surgical, no other injuries except the spurs, and even those were cleanly gone, no trauma.

Weve 3 orange bushes i got from my parents and oh they have needles also...iv em at the east side Windows.

Just use a cutoff wheel on an angle grinder. !


I snatch them up and let them hang by their feet ( they won’t move or fight you this way) and run a cutoff week at the base of those hooks. Takes 2 seconds, you get a blunt nub and the wheel cauterizes the cut so no blood. Quick , easy , no fight, no blood, it’s the perfect way .

been there - got the scars to prove it ... got a young rooster now - need to do this BEFORE he gets mean - guess now's the time, cause he's tearing up the hen's feather lately ... so it needs to be done -
