To tell you the truth, I like Buckley's interpretation better than Leonard Cohen's.

I don't get it. I have known several people that hear this song and then all of a sudden get all smitten with Jeff Buckley.. seem sub par emo amateurish to me. Actually bothers my ears. Guy can barely hold a tune.

Only Buckley couldn't write that song... and I don't think he fully understood the lyrics.

Re: Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (video)
The Hallelu--- song was written by leonard cohen. I liked his music at one time but the closer I got to the Lord, the further I got from his music.

He used his religious roots to mock God. He served the god of this world and the world awarded him accordingly.

His music (like a lot of music) has no place in the home (or heart) of a God-fearig man.

Re: Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (video)
I was lucky enough to see him 4 times from 94-96. He was the most talented performer I saw during the 90's, he had it all. Gone but never forgotten.
