Also, there is nothing that requires women to ever stop breastfeeding, they can keep lactating all their lives, even before pregnancy.

3) Pumping does not work for many women, for anatomical reasons.
4) Women who chose not to breastfeed at the start cannot suddenly start to produce breast milk. Once it goes dry, it's gone for good. Formula, homemade or commercial, is then the only option, other than a wet nurse.
These are basic infant care feeding facts, which everyone should know before graduating high school. It is basic human biology.
