In the South it’s all called Coke. As in, I’ll have a Coke. Then you will be asked what kind. Then you say Dr. Pepper, or Coca Cola or Orange Drink.

I asked for a Coke in a restaurant and they said, sorry, we only have Pepsi. I was so confused. The first time I heard soda called pop was when I had a roommate from Minnesota my freshman year of college. I thought it was funny and cute.
