That depends on when the diesel stops being produced or when it hits $20/gal. Food can be produced all day long, but if it cannot be shipped to the stores then folks will go hungry. When that day happens, the only amount of food will be what is on the shelves. There will be a mad rush to the local walmart and the shelves will be stripped bare like locust eating its way through a wheat field. The shelves will be emptied within hours of the initial panic buying and they will not be restocked due to the limitations of the fuel problems. Sure there might be some trucks which get through but the stores will have to raise the prices to compensate for the fuel charges. Folks will get a piece of bread but that bread will cost $30 for a loaf. Retirement money will be spent very quickly so think about how that will effect you. He who has the most money will be able to purchase the most food. Poor people will starve or kill the rich people for their food. Guns will be prevalent while food shopping so you can protect your purchase. It's gonna get interesting and it will happen soon,.

Shortages will get worse with back to school this fall. I believe it's why the majority of school distrcits are offering free breakfast and free lunch for all students up to 2024.

No doubt a food crisis is already here given the above. Food won't be entirely gone. Prices will continue to soar into hyperinflation territory. More are skipping meals and eating less. I've been packing husband extra for lunch to share with employees that have no food.

As long as the sun keeps shining, there will be food everywhere in the USA, especially along the coasts.

There are tons of insects to eat and meal worms are easy to breed. Doom averted.

I send things like muffins with my husband a lot, so I get your thought. I'm turning to to get my food pantry where it needs to be to at least form a set plan.
