Poland now occupies the position in the NATO pecking order that Germany occupied. Until Poland joined NATO, Germany was the front line that got all the goodies. Now Poland reaps the financial rewards. If Ukraine were to get into NATO, Poland will quickly be replaced by Ukraine as the focus of NATO spending and largess.

It's in Poland's financial interest that Ukraine either never joins NATO or is absorbed by Poland somehow. If Russia doesn't grab it up first.

It's not in Poland's financial interest that Finland becomes the new front line state against Russia. Finland sees money flowing in. Poland is jealous thinking... "We should be getting that money."

Look how much money Turkey made being the front line state for Hillary's "moderate jihads."

OP nailed it.

Poland wants to be the front line state the way Germany was during cold war. It was very profitable.
