You need something with the gravitational pull to have a noticeable effect on light. The effect of Earth's gravity on light is laughably negligible.
Quoting: Captain Cosmos yet it can be observed at least twice a day at sunset and sunrise. I think you are confusing atmospheric refraction with gravity.
