I would think part of the reason is that they seem outdated.

Dudes don't go to strip clubs for purely sexual reasons. That is of course part of it, but what they're after is something you can't get from porn. What they're really after is positive reinforcement of their masculinity. They just want to be treated like men for once, because their wives and girlfriends treat them like complete schmucks.

There's a similar phenomenon in Japan, and the women don't even undress or do anything overtly sexual. They just hang out with the dude, pour his drinks, and be nice to him.
