The official US policy is not in conflict with China’s, both countries believe Taiwan is part of China. The US does not have official diplomatic relations with Taiwan not does it recognize it as a country.

China has no oil without world cooperation. They are Shocked at the collective reaction to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Taiwan is not Ukraine, they had 8 years to prepare and Taiwan has had 75 years, and a big mote. If China goes for it they will be obliterated.
