It's the Liberal party trying to soften their image and especially Trudeau's image. Canadians are losing rights like crazy and a lot of people, even Liberals are starting to get angry about it. The Liberal party is moving to ban toy guns, ban paintball Milsim, ban airsoft toys, ban airguns and further restrict firearms rights to the point where many believe it will end firearms ownership in Canada altogether. The Liberal party is also introducing the most draconian red flag law anyone could ever imagine and it's so bad that even international politicians have said it eliminates the right to be presumed innocent in Canada.

The Liberals are removing the right to speak the English language from the Canadian constitution and allowing the province of Quebec to further marginalize and attack English speaking people through laws that blatantly discriminate against them. The Liberals are also introducing new taxes including a digital sales tax, raising existing taxes, expanding their right to refuse citizens reentry into Canada from abroad and tightening controls over their border even going so far as to want mandatory searches of everyone entering Canada. Students are getting the shaft, Trudeau has cut funding to women’s shelters and battered women’s programs along with cutting funding to programs supporting abused children. He's even cutting mental health funding and further cutting healthcare while wanting to slap violent criminals on the wrist and release them from jail as quickly as possible just to pander for votes.

Trudeau has become a tyrant and the Liberal party has lost control of him so they're basically tossing people a bone to try to calm them down. He's threatening to use his executive powers to ban and restrict firearms if politicians refuse to pass the law he wants passed and further threatening to kick members of his own party out of the government if they don't support him on it. It's also come out that left wing anti-gun groups are quite literally writing legislation for the Liberal party to pass. I mean they're literally being invited into private offices and being allowed to write the law. Trudeau's government is like something you would read about in a dystopian novel at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if his own party turns on him soon since he's destroying their chances of reelection.
