The 14-year-old boy who feel to his death from a 430-foot ride at Florida's ICON park was 96 pounds over the weight limit and suffered horrific internal trauma.

Tyre Sampson, of Missouri, was found to be almost 100 pounds over the ride's 287 pound weight limit, according to the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office, which ruled his death an accident.

Sampson's friends had previously said the teen who was 6 foot five inches had been turned away from other rides for his 383 pound size. Ride operators also reportedly adjusted his seat prior to the ride started to allow him to fit, authorities determined.

Sampson was in Orlando with a friend's family for vacation and his size has been examined as a potential factor.

An initial report by outside engineers hired by the Florida Department of Agriculture said sensors on the ride had been adjusted manually to double the size of the opening for restraints on two seats, resulting in Sampson not being properly secured.

Didn't it ever occur to his family that he was too large for the rides?
The same question; for the operators of the ride. Didn't they recognize when someone was too large for the ride?

Equally as stupid is those failing to realize he was 6' 5". Being that tall and average build will easily push you to 250lb, much higher if muscular or even a little out of shape for their height. his BMI was probably lower than most the low IQ child death celebrators in this thread.

But again, he was black, that's the root of the issue here. The kid got what's coming right?

Yeah he was actually about 200 lbs over the weight limit of a 14 year old.

What value does his life have to me?

The obese are repulsive. It used to be physical, as I grow older its the excess input they take in.

How many children could have lived off of what this one was eating? He would be a human black hole his entire life.

I hope going forward this serves as a warning to theme parks everywhere. I remember as a child I was too small and slim for a ride that went upside down in a capsule. I was slipping out of the safety strap but held on to hand rails with my upper body for my life. Every ride needs to check the age, weight and height. Ride attendants are safety attendants first and foremost.
