You raised them with materialism and to bow to authoritarianism.
It's your own fault for sending them to place like Columbia and paying a quarter of a million dollars to raise a functional retard who cannot even afford her own home even after being born on third base.

But you wanted the facebook accolades for sending your daughter there, you though it made you a big shot, a VIP.

What Can Gen X Do to Save Our Future Generations?

Gen Xers need to understand that we will have to be the leaders. The boomers are too old.

And by the way, many boomers were bad asses who fought wars and lost a lot. Many others helped fuel our nation's former economic might. So you millennials should show a little respect.

Just today I worked for a marine 2 tour Vietnam vet who lost his leg riding a tank that got blown up. I guarantee you he could pull his artificial leg off and beat plumb to death a half dozen millennials before y'all could get him down.

But I digress.

We Xers remember a time these youngsters don't know. We love our country and constitution and bill of rights. We know that high civilization is created only by a highly civilized people. Animals only care about their own desires. Civilized people have to see bigger.

And we need toughness. Times will get worse before they get better. We gotta keep things together and not let the youngsters get lost in the forest.

Us Xers are not known as team players. We're known as self leading loners. But a good leader is someone that leads themselves, someone who can make decisions. We are natural leaders.

So lets buck up and remind the you guns that the path forward is simple. Hard work and a clean conscience. That's the American way by God.

I am a gen X. I don't know about the rest of you but I plan to use the generations after mine for the protein necessary to survive after a shit hits the fan scenario

We are way past the point of giving a damn. After decades of being spit on you're on your own.

We got called slackers and losers when all but the oldest couple of years of gen x was still in high school.

The you know whos HATED us and they were young and feisty then. Some of them hated us from the moment we were born.

We were constantly told that everything was going to crash and burn (probably literally) our entire life. Despite what you have been told, the economy was fucked up. They lied about it even then i tried as hard as i could and was told i was a loser because "things were better than they have ever been".

It was a lie. No matter what is going on there's always someone doing pretty good.

This isn't whining. I know you don't give a fuck about me. I am just telling you how it was.

I did try to stop us from getting to this surreally fucked up reality.

Bigger generations are programmed very tightly. It is hard to break. Younger people are kinda screwed there and it's not their fault. Same with a certain older group.

There were 3 lost generations in the 20th century. We were the last one (im not saying there won't be more, i am saying the 20th century is over). They're a little more loosey goosey with programming us because if they fuck it up, there aren't that many screw ups. They can just kill a bunch, as they did.

But, we're living through what you are, too. Except we're older.

Younger people need to understand it takes WORK to be successful. Your liberal arts degree means nothing. It was a complete waste of your time. You are not going to slide straight into a 6-figure job. Face it. It is not going to happen.

Get a real job, with crappy hours and shit for pay. That is how it is when you are the new guy. Accept it and work.

Before you know it, you will be in a better position, because all of the slacker pussies have dropped off.

Get a job doing oil changes or septic inspections. Be the best at what you are doing. Show up on time and do what you are told. It will pay off, but it takes time and effort.
