It is a known fact that during intense large scale exercises aircraft will sometimes fall out of the sky due to intense microwave radiation being emitted by so many sources. It may be possible to modify existing radars to better disable drones. Flak guns could work pretty well with high tech fuses. A 2 or 3 inch shell could disperse a whole bunch of steel BBs over a decent area. |

The large crop sprayer drones can carry 40 kilograms, 20 is more likely and 10 would be a useful sized (relatively small) drone. So the swarms may have been fairly large deliveries that got called off when it was discovered these were navy ships not unspecified other vessels. Naval ships often travel transponders off and visual ID needed. Other ships can also turn off their transponders, etc |
