Am I the only poor stressed by inflation? And I don't live paycheck to paycheck. But even tbe bigboxes are too expensive.

Average cost of groceries is up $450 bucks a month for a family of four.

Average cost of a new vehicle is over $47,000. Average new car note is $648. Average note on a used car is $503.

Average rent is $1300 to 1900. Average house payment is over $2100.

Average household income is $79,900.

Is this sustainable?

In the giant festering, Leftist Fauci-hole of San Antonio, people are still racing around at top speed wherever they go...like back during the pandemic. Giant 4x4 trucks going 100mph down Loop 410 with gas nearly $5.00/gal (diesel $5+/gal).

went from pasture raised eggs to cage free eggs and the yolks of the kess expensive eggs are super orange. spending less for 18 white cage free eggs than for 12 brown pasture raised eggs and yet the yolks and eggs overall look healthier. hmmmm....

the egg prices didn't go up, but some other stuff did. the white eggs crack more easily, too.

Cognitive dissonance - this has happened so fast people are going along with it, maxing out the credit cards and having a good summer - people want normalcy after the last 2 years. When the bill really comes due, it's going to be a bitch - I think we're going to hit a wall late August, back to school time, and reality will bite, hard. . .

Yup. I still have to do the same things as before. Just consolidating trips. Planning meals more now so I don’t need to just go out for a few items. Not going out to eat as much. No vacations. I like where I live though.

Am I the only poor stressed by inflation? And I don't live paycheck to paycheck. But even tbe bigboxes are too expensive.

I am also seeing this.

Some of my friends are even moving into bigger flats or buying houses now. One of these guys showed me his "solid" calculations and he is actually living paycheck to paycheck now. He is in complete denial.

And no this is not sustainable, many people will have a rude awakening next winter.

What frequently happens when you are stretched are the out of the blue costs not calculated. Kids teeth, your teeth, tires for the SUV, house emergencies like a new central air unit ect... Enough of those when thrown on multiple cards and you are barely paying minimum payments and sinking badly.

The GOPers running the oil companies have a fine line to tread. Raising gas prices enough to make consumers angry but not reduce gas buying. They are also counting on partisan idiots blaming Biden rather than blaming them in the hope of getting another stooge president like Trump

Sure, of course my friend's calculation does not include these unregular expenses. Actually even a 20% rise in food and energy costs will get him in deep trouble.

You do realize that the "record profits" are more a function of the companies not being able to spend their planned investment in production and refining than any made up bullshit about price gouging.

Biden is a dumbass, and a puppet, but his handlers know exactly what they are doing in crushing the energy sector. His last boss even said as much when he was the puppet.

this - we have not seen anything yet. Americans, are generally optimistic people and believe good wins in the end and things work out fairly.....I think it has not sunk in for most that this time is drastically different than anything we have experienced before, and it is just the beginning of the pain.

I really do think some of the profiteering we are seeing, across the board, is corporate suite conservatives trying to manipulate the system to impact votes. Corporate fat cats want deregulation, low oversight, zero corporate responsibility and lobby conservatives incessantly for just that.

In the rare instance When they don't get their way in DC, they run shit off the rails and point fingers.
