Guess who else is getting those "record profits" you hate so much? Federal and State Government via gas taxes. They make more per gallon on taxes than oil companies do in "record profits". Oil companies average .06 cents per dollar. Both Federal and State taxes are higher than that.

The Democrats will not try to reinstate the gas and diesel taxes until after the November elections. But then they will no longer be in power, and they will be able to blame the Republicans if the gas taxes are reinstated. However, a Republican controlled Congress will have much more to say about lowering gas prices and once again making the U.S. energy independent. Biden will be a doddering figurehead President until the next presidential election.

They hammered Trump on "infrastructure".
Now they are defunding it.

In 3 months the price of oil will have skyrocketed past that measly saving

Instead of increasing the supply of oil, which would lower costs, they are directly lowering the cost to the consumer.

The problem here is that they are not addressing the actual problem of not enough oil.

They are addressing one of the symptoms.

Higher costs push down on supply.

Lower costs when supply is down will bring shortages.

why does the administration think this will lower gas prices? and the tax is never "cents"... it's a percentage.
