IT'S A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT THE LITTLE FISH HANG CLOSE TO SHORE BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE THEY'RE THE SAFEST.

As to what is down below 100 or more feet, well, lets just say that when you're in any body of water that are a few miles across or more, you're on something elses turf.

A story was told to me by a friend back in the 70's about a diver that was doing work under the Atlantic ocean that saw something while under water that turned his hair completely white and made him unable to speak or communicate for the rest of his life. Scared him senseless apparently.

I myself have seen a glowing eel as a kid that freaked me out pretty bad. At that time, I didn't even realize that such creatures even existed.
