What doesn't make sense is when a stock like Caterpillar declines when the dollar weakens. Caterpillar and other internationally traded stocks should do well when exports are cheaper to buy, due to inflation. The problem is that people's funds are decreasing and they can't afford to buy discretionary goods. Banks will not give out loans to farms and businesses for Capital Equipment purchases, unless they meet stringent loan requirements. Caterpillar and other Companies will see sales decline...
