Anonymous Coward User ID: 83645773 United States 06/23/2022 01:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Trade is trade. You can trade for lots of things besides just a green back piece of paper. I can trade a farmer for some of his grain by repairing his tractor. You can trade the grain you just got in to a restaurant and get some free meals. That's the natural way of things, that's the natural order. The silver tongue come in and become the head of that order and create banks, and standardized currency. Everyone has to want the same thing (money) in this new order instead of everyone having unique pursuits and talents creating a true free market. Instead, money weighs the world down as it's the bottleneck of a sole focus. |

I'm thinking this is after revelation. We're given spiritual upgrades if you will. We will be telepathic, able to grow fruit and vegetable through will of thought in a matter of minutes, there will no technology, travel time and space by will, have knowledge by contemplation, affect time and matter, heal via prayer and touch and control the weather collectively. As a species we are considered to spiritually immature to posses such things currently. Who knows, sounds amazing though |

Physical money is just another “good” or product that is bartered or exchanged. It is the DEMAND for a product that gives it its value. The ONLY reasons for the US Dollar having value are: 1. The US government demands that taxes be paid with US Dollars and 2. The US Dollar is/was the world’s reserve currency |

User ID: 71498518 Colombia 06/23/2022 05:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It wouldn’t work, OP. That’s why there has been money for 10,000 years. Let’s say I make shoes and you grow oranges. You want a pair of shoes but I don’t like oranges. Well you’re out of luck; you’d have to find something that I like, then hope that you can buy it with oranges only to trade it to me for shoes. Money is meant as a medium of exchange. That’s also why precious metals was that medium for a long time; because it was something of value, unlike paper money which is worth… paper. Anyway money as a medium of exchange isn’t the problem. The problem comes once banking was introduced and money lending. Like I told my ex-wife, I said: honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it’s all in the reflexes… |

You finish your work week and boss asks you, do you want a leg of lamb? or would you rather have lumber? How about some nice kitchen faucet? BARTER, which, if there is no more medium of exchange, is what it all devolves into, is the most MISERABLE, INEFFICIENT system of trade imaginable. These hippie dreaming, dumbbells have NO IDEA how bad that could get. They imagine some heavenly commune, which has been tried OVER and OVER and OVER and has NEVER worked, because PEOPLE are involved. We have already let these assholes bring America to the brink of ruin, DO YOU WANT TO PUT YOUR VERY LIFE IN THEIR HANDS? I would MUCH rather have a BROKEN system that WORKS, than CHAOS, which DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78191827 United States 06/23/2022 07:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pure barter is a bad bad system. Too many people with incompatible trades which creates a rise of merchants taking advantage of this. This is why society always has some money system. You want to trade your goods for a universally wanted asset. Money will change, but it will never die |

I give you eggs... you give me a basket. Community. Providing what each other needs and sharing freely. One makes sturdy tables another cares for pets (vet). No money changes... your dog is sick you take them to the person/people trained in that. If you are a carpenter, you make them something they need or they can exchange for something else. It would require CARE and intimacy between people. Knowing what you do, love and can provide and sharing those skills with others. This is exactly what they don't want, because not only is it devoid of money but also governance. A community would be self-sufficient, peaceful and unified. You would train and teach your children in the craft you know, unless they show passion and aptitude for another profession... than they would follow that path. But all would be productive and helpful in some way. Even retards and disabled, etc. could have value in helping with simple tasks giving them purpose. The way current society is run is combative, competitive, aggressive and more importantly controlled. It's OBSOLETE. It also encourages and rewards people that do not contribute. Because it is trying to create a need to rule, control and have dependency on the system instead of the self. "Honey, I’m the original one-eyed chicklet in the kingdom of the blind." |
