Tell me your vision of what a post apocalypse/Great Reset/Mark of the beast society is like.

I think most GLP expectations are rather silly. Most focus on survival skills, prepping, and thinking it will be like pre-electric times (colonial/old west era)...

I think this is preposterous!

First off..old west type thinking...they had all the latest technology and skills available at the time, and the knowhow to build/use them when it was relevant, with all the foundational supply chain working..for instance...

Cloth.

In a post world I envision an eclectic mishmash of old world leftovers...you might have some converse high tops...but you’ll be wearing a mishmash of animal skins like Conan the Barbarian...

First off, you need a person able to raise, feed, water, and protect sheep till they can be sheared...(with primitive tools mind you...so a blacksmith needed as well...)

So let’s say I throw down a bale of wool, a foot operated spinning wheel, and a loom...how many people could turn that into a piece of cloth( forget for a moment who builds the wheel and loom...)?

It’s going to be like that for everything...

So really your talking about primitive living...

How many blacksmiths, leatherworkers, tailors, etc in a hundred mile radius?

All the tech will fail relatively quickly too...guns when well oiled and kept clean, and stored can last lifetimes...in constant use with dirt, and weather...not so much.

Cars? Gasoline doesn’t last long sitting in tanks...so,unless your living at a working refinery like Mad Max...you ain’t going to be driving long.

For places like the US...we don’t have constant rainfall like the equator...raising animals and farming will be incredibly hard, except in a handful of places...we rely too much on modern wonders like dams, plumbing, and electricity.

Anyways I feel society will go the opposite of what many here think...when they cut off water, electricity, and supplies...the cities will be the last refuges, but you will have to take an oath(Mark), etc to live there in relative safety.

The idea of rural people banding together and just farming and such seems highly unlikely to me, and those places will be the first to be raided, and conquered by the city-states that will arise.

While prepping, survival,skills are important...they are a short term solution. Banding together with others in the community are also short term in the sense that eventually, bigger groups will come to gather resources, ultimately being the massive city-states with electricity, water, vertical farming, and technology that will overwhelm the small communities that live a pre-industrial lifestyle after a collapse.

In a sense...the elite of today want to return to being robber barons, and hold fiefdoms over the large majority of the populous...

Everyone having a minivan, cellphone, Dodge Charger, and watching Netflix while being in an air conditioned house has become too much to bear for them...you’ll either be a city slave living better than most working for them, or living in your hovel, enjoying bugs for dinner.

Actual uprisings against the power are rare...most are orchestrated by other powers to achieve goals ( Go Ukraine LOL)...you get the picture.
