Anonymous Coward User ID: 76683494 06/23/2022 10:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've noticed this in the UK. For years British people have taken for granted how cheap it is to travel abroad, flights to Spain or Italy for under £50 return have been the norm for many years. Now things have suddenly changed massively, flights are being cancelled left, right and centre. Flight prices have gone up massively, it's now difficult to find a short haul flight below £100. What used to be a relatively cheap past time for most people is suddenly not so cheap any more. Foreign holidays is a big part of most British peoples' lives, when it finally hits home that it's not going to be affordable or possible for most people any more, I think this is what is going to cause the public to freak out big time. |

The engines simply compress air through rotation and create an electromagnetic force. They’ve hidden this technology from is for decades. Maybe even centuries Let me guess. The assholes, (I-refuse to call them elites) are the ones that stole our collective money through taxes, and other policies, are causing the hell now. The fuckers think they are the only ones that should have “privileges”. We could fix this easily if we band together refuse to participate in ther crap, and give them our money, which they use to live in complete luxury. The global warming, now climate change is their vehicle, (all bullshit) along with pandemics, they cause, is their scheme for our final enslavement. We may have to exterminate them for the cockroaches they are. |

Lots of people here in the country still have horses, and the Amish swear (no they don't) by them. It will be a GOOD thing to get back to nature. Slower, but better. People will steal your horse. Lol!! Not mine! He kicks and bites! And he's ugly too! But damn, he is a fine using horse once you get past that. |

User ID: 83114804 United States 06/23/2022 10:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am thankful that I took my grandfather's advice and I traveled while I was still young. I was told "travel while you are young, tomorrow may never come and when you're old, it's harder to get around and you don't enjoy it as much." I also took my children around to a lot of these places before the virus hit. Money was tight but we got a taste of it doing cruises and cheap tickets. As a single mom, I was VERY frugal and I found a way to save money all year long. Then I search for last minute vacation deals. (Vacationstogo.com and Priceline.com were my favorites.) If I found an incredible deal, (like 7 night cruise for us four that stops in 4 European countries for $299 a person plus we got travel airplane benefits from airline my dad retired from) I snatched it up and surprised my kiddos by saying something like "Kids, guess what? I have a surprise for you, in three days we are going to _______!" Kids would be like "Mom, what, are you kidding? Wow!!!" Kids did very well in school and kept up their studies. During a 12 year time frame, we went to many places in the USA plus; Mexico Canada Phillipines South Korea England Ireland Scotland Germany Israel Belgium Belize Costa Rica Czech Republic France Greece Haiti Jamaica Italy Japan Kenya Montenegro Several islands in Caribbean LookinUp1 |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80262102 Back in the day, pioneers would head west without knowing if they'd ever see or hear from their families again. Same with those who migrated to America and left their families behind all over the world. Migration is not new. However, thanks to technology, we don't have to rely on the pony express or fuck off overseas to keep in touch with family. (for some reason I'm having problems posting today - takes several attempts to get my posts to show) Tech still doesn’t take the place of being close to family. There is a disconnect. Agreed. Families build communities over time. America has always been a transient melting pot though, for the most part. I love where I live in New Hampshire, with many families generations living here for hundreds of years. As a military brat, I never experienced anything like that - my parents from different states and their parents from different states and so forth. Yeah we have family all over and can’t see them. Cousins don’t even know each other. There are no family gatherings. Just too expensive for everyone to get together. It is what it is. |

Fuel costs are crushing the airlines. Quoting: CharlieFoxtrot Just imagine a world in which, almost overnight, the transport system breaks down. Flights across the world are cancelled, leaving thousands of travellers stranded far from home. Airports are crowded with mobs of angry, frightened people. Even greater throngs descend on the railway stations, desperate to squeeze on to the horribly overcrowded trains. Meanwhile, the roads fall eerily silent, as rocketing petrol prices make it prohibitively expensive for all but the richest to drive long distances. For businesses across the Western world — hotels and restaurants, cafes and newsagents, garages and tour operators — this would be nothing short of a disaster. I trust airplanes and most pilots(I am one), but I never trusted TSA. I had one flight since then to help a friend with an emergency and almost missed my flight due to TSA and their stupid machines. I refused the backscatter X-ray and they screened me and all my shit twice! I'm not even female or good looking and they were still perverts. When I finally got on board, the aircraft seemed old and minimally maintained, and every seat was filled with smelly people. |
