I am from San Antonio too. And yes, Bunkers are a real thing here, especially out in Hill Country. Could be true as I Have heard of vets that are doing similar things. They areas carful who they bring into the fold though. So, you must have dropped some hinds on what you are doing to prep or at very least political perspective he liked. If you are one of them, they tend to open up a bit more.

San Antonio already has a lot low laying gangsters, as San Antonio, has been a staging area to get to a lot of the rest of the nation. Functional gangster here do not get tattoo's or advertise their affiliations openly. More money to be made down the pike.

The food supply is about to shut down. Large ranches with cattle will be hit by hungry people. Will it be bad guys from Mexico or hungry survivors from the chaos in the city? Who knows? People like me can either support local ranchers or sit that out and wait to be overrun in our homes. Read the book One Second After.

Not true at all. Most of US SOF/Detachment Delta is drawn from the Rangers. They have to have a GT score of 110+ to be in Delta, same as US Army SF. Which gives them north of a 105 IQ which is well beyond the national average and smarter than most. Moreover, Rangers like Green Berets tend to have lateral thinking skills, which is a lost art in 21 Century America.

So, ease up.

Shitload of stolen honor in texas
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76585354

Texas was founded on stolen honor.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83706268

Texas was "founded" by criminals who went there to escape justice after the civil war
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27773721

Uhm.. that is not true. Texas was already a nation by itself before the Civil war. The Republic of Texas was a sovereign state in North America that existed from March 2, 1836, to February 19, 1846. The American Civil War was between April 12, 1861 – May 9, 1865. And, Texas finally joined the Civil war late, not really participating in the Civil war at all.
Yes, some people did move south and away form the civil war in the south. Wouldn't you?

Criminal mostly because they were avoiding the draft, not paying taxes for a war they didn't support. Similarly, the women did bad things like teaching black people to read. Or Texans recognizing that black people had a right to property.

Texas joined the Union to get help and strength to defend it border from Mexico and the Native American Indians in the west and a little bit in the north. Most people that came there came because of cattle ranching.

Texas was also the only free slave state in the confederacy. And, they meant it. If your slave ran away, no one was going to possie up to go chase down your run away slave. If your slave declared themselves free, than so be it. Although many slaves stay in slavery out of ignorance and convenience. Slave beating were not condoned in Texas either.

Anyways, the first rail lines where in Texas in the 1950's and exploded out and upward from there. Railway travel and fair weather made for year round market to get beef from the mid west to the east coast and aboard easily.

So, I do not know who told you that, but that is just not completely true. Why people came was good useful land and good weather.
