Guess defense is not entirely up to the president. THat is an illusion. President's term is only for a couple of years. Real power is with those in the military/policy for decades. That is where you have to look.
On another note: Russia's only option is to brag about their weapons because they need to do that to keep control over their own population (you cannot look weak, don't you, as a dictator), because it is the ONLY thing Putin and his clique can brag about.
Europe/US don't need to brag about anything. Do you really think we, here at GLP, or normal people or journalists do know what's really in store when the shit hits the fan?
