IMO..it's bait.

They want to trigger extremists 'on the left' so they could point to them and say..LOOK!!! THEY'RE JUST AS BAD!! SCREEEEEE!!

Or IOW..Clarence Thomas offered himself as a potential sacrifice to save his wife and her ties to the Insurrection on Jan 6.


It's a trap. That's my intuition./
