Have you guys been watching drug commercials lately?

You're definitely right OP.

There have been times while waiting at my wife's Dr's office the tee vee will be on and these commercials will come on with these outrageous list of potentially deadly side effects and I will look around at all the people and they are just staring absently at the screen, and you want to engage them in conversation about the absurdity of it all. But you just know nobody is getting it...clown world indeed.

I even saw a commercial for a like Kia "offroad" 4wd SUV the other day.

The whole commercial was designed around its offroad capability, but the disclaimer at the bottom of the screen, visible for 2 seconds, said "not an offroad vehicle, professional driver on a closed course, do not attempt".

Lol.

But the whole commercial was selling it as an offroad vehicle.

My favorite bit is "don't take this medicine if you are allergic to it", how do you know if you are allergic to it until you take it the first time.

Ok. so my doctor was pushing a colonoscopy. Why? instead I requested the Cologard test. Came in the mail.

There's a little shit bucket. cringe. And the whole process was disgusting. Sent it in and guess what... comes back "abnormal" because it detects any amount of blood in stool. Of course 90% of people will have blood in their stool.

Results say vaguely "this test is only positive or negative" does not detect anything else... but to send you to your doctor for a colonoscopy!!!

Scammers. Medical industry is a money making machine based on speculation, not science.

I stopped watching commercials over a decade ago for this reason. No matter how truthful one may be, it is a guarantee that somewhere in the presentation is a scam designed to convince the audience the product will suit a purpose that it is incapable of serving.

Something to be acquired that fulfills one's need ought not come with any argument from its creator that it has such a capacity. The creation of the thing and offering of it for trade is the only necessity to prove its value.

Who watches TV these days and who in their right mind would waste any of their time watching a commercial?

Best one I saw was some eye drops that fix vision, but at the end one of the side effect is vison loss WTF LOL
