The old way of abusing oxycontin wasn't cutting it in half, it was chewing it, so the material that took time to be dissolved by stomach acids wouldn't be a factor, and the drug hit the druggie all at once. The new formulation requires that substance to activate the good stuff. So, chew it, it does nothing. But the score marks are what they claim to be. They make it easier to halve the dosage. Time delay feature is the exposure of the tab and its constituent components which slowly dissolve together. Cutting in half exposes more raw drug outside of rhe time delay formulation.
