Bought me a 1959 Ford Galaxie Fairlane 500 to Play with !

Yep. Jet Engine mech. Then went to aeronautical school after the service on the GI bill and got my federal licences....A&P....Pittsburgh Inst. of Aeronautics...Airline mechanic and then went to work for the Army working and flying on helicopters. Crew Chief. My favorite was the CH-54 Sikorsky Skycrane. Air force....F4 Phantoms...F105s..EB66s....etc. Those were the days. As I said before...Air Force....best thing I could have done at the time.

I always thought Ford should have brought that body style back with updated mechanics.

So I was looking at the ad for the Starliner I mentioned before.

It's a 1960 Ford Starliner, custom built in the 80s to resemble a 1960 Edsel Corsair prototype that was never built.

It's got a 390 and 3 on the tree. In Medina, Ohio, on FB marketplace, I'd link it if I could.

Just saw a 59 Ranchero too, same body as the Galaxie.

They kinda did about 15 years ago, but it didn't sell. 2005 was the last year.

Dude I was on f4s at Homestead Air Force Base in the early 80s then I was on c-130s at Rosecrans Air National Guard in Missouri and then went back regular to f-16s at Shaw

I spent some time at Shaw going to school on the J71 engine used on the EB66 an electronics warfare acft.....that was in 1969.

Like I mentioned before I'm in central Pa. Was at Andrews AFB and then sent overseas to Kadena in Okinawa.

I wasn't too fond of the F4 engine work...too low to stand and almost too high to sit. I preferred wing mounted engines.

Yeah, I've owned a couple. I put 440's in them.

The reason I like Dusters is that when I was around 9, Grandpa's Ford Granada broke down and he walked to a phone booth where he called a friend. The friend showed up in a Duster. I climbed in the back seat and thought, "Man this car is cool. I will have one of these someday."

So I did.

I have reached a point where I think of my bucket list.

Lol. I do remember the F4 got us so filthy as mechanics that our olive drab fatigues were black even after washing them

Crazy days...hit a few roadhouses. High class entertainment and rednecks. LOL

I don't know why I thought that but I said the F4 was like two pounds of poop in a one pound bag. Worked nights and on the trim pad going into afterburner was quite a sight.

BTW...I suppose the phantoms are gone...even for the guard. Shaw had the EB66s at the time and they were electric warfare...used them over North Vietnam to jam missle sites. They were what I was assigned to Kadena for but ended up flight line on the F4s and F105S also. I probably would have stayed in if I could have picked my base of choice for 16 years but I figured I could have ended up in some God forsaken place. But that experience was quite an experience. I joined the Air Force and was sworn in and two weeks later got my draft notice and they couldn't touch me. A draft into the Army at the time was likely a one way trip to Vietnam.

I never heard anything very good about the K cars.

I have no bucket list. Since I have retired, I have realized that there is nothing left to accomplish because I already got everything done.

My best friend's crazy girlfriend jumped one over some railroad tracks late one night. I was in the backseat with her friend and our heads hit the headliner pretty hard. The car bounced like a pogo stick after the landing. It was not fun and I never rode with her again!

I've had two '57 Chevys! Drove the first one till it died. Sold the other one for $1000 about 30 years ago.

I think we can all think of some crazy things we had done in vehicles in the past.

Back in 1986 I was going to trade my '72 SS Camaro for one until I test drove it. It felt like a tank and I hated the way it steered. It was a black Belair.

Then later, people started put Camaro subframes under them and I understood why.
