I've thought about my situation, and found how it's odd I eventually ended up with zero social connections when I actually had a phobia of ending up alone as a kid. I should be embarrassed even putting this on here, but it's true, and I think maybe people should realize what they have or how things could change.

When my sweet boy was having a psychotic break, 2 days before he died. We were in the emergency room, and I caressed his beautiful face to try and comfort him, he was so scared. I will NEVER forget that beautiful 21 year old face, and how he seemed like a little boy again. Sorry, your question was very emotional for me On a happy note, the post reminds me to do the same to my loved ones now, but in a happier way. Especially my grandkids. I can get away with it. I always tell them to give me my present. They know I need my hug.

They are teenagers so they generally want to be left alone but my younger one, if she is having a bad day, I ask her if she wants a hug and she almost always says yes and then she gives me the best hug and she wont let go.
