Quoting: Bye Bye Big Oil!!!! 81581461 You will NOW see a revolution in non-petro consumerism and invention that will rattle the world's big oil sector. By overcharging, they are effectively putting themselves out of business forever. Stay tuned! Your either sorely misinformed or delusional. Do a little research into the O&G industry over the past 10 years and then take a look at the ridiculously strong macro environment were in now. When your done that do a little research on the supply and demand outlook for the next 5 years. Sadly however, you won't and you'll keep spewing nonsense. |

Mobil had to borrow from itself to come out ahead Do not fall for these memes highlighting very specific quarters as opposed to a yearly profit. The taxes they are paying tripled in the last 2 years. Oil companies have their operating costs and if the price of oil goes up, they make more money for the commodity that they produce. The same can be said for anyone that produces a commodity, like miners, farmers, refineries, etc. |

That is a total of more than $35 billion in profits in just three months. In fact, these five companies’ first-quarter profits alone are equivalent to almost 28 percent of what Americans spent to fill up their gas tanks in the same time period. Quoting: He's Right 79393344 [link to www.americanprogress.org (secure)] The oil and gas companies don't set the prices - OPEC does.
