Anonymous Coward User ID: 83780332 07/01/2022 07:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few thoughts I would like to share with the few GLPers who are educated and have a nuanced worldview, or who are even among those who can think independently and out of the box. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80192053 Our fate is that of all empires. We have lived well for decades. Much better than our own productivity would have allowed. But this prosperity was of course paid for by others. Namely, by those we invaded and plundered. With our war machinery we brought 'peace and democracy' wherever it served our geopolitical interests or where we wanted to secure access to raw materials. Mostly diplomatically, with blackmail and bribery, often with force of arms. We have over 800 military bases around the world and have influenced or determined the formation of governments in dozens of, actually sovereign, states since WW2. Cheap gasoline we had not because you voted right, but because as 'gods own country' we not only murdered over 500,000 innocent women and children in Iraq, but also made sure Africa stayed on the ground and did not use its unique wealth of mineral resources for itself and its own people. Currently we see the war in Europe, in which the small country whose economic power can rival the giant China, Germany, plays a central role. The Germans should have a prosperity that would make us look like a developing country in comparison. In fact, they bring up the rear in the EU. Why? Are the Germans stupid? No, they aren't. We just haven't given the Germans back their sovereignty since WW2. Germany is our colony and an open prisoner of war camp. It is through Rammstein that we have conducted all our military operations and regime changes in the Middle East, and it is in Germany that most of our nuclear weapons, directed against Russia, are stationed. But it gets even better. We have written into the Germans' provisional constitution that they may govern themselves, but they must pay us for all of this. For preventing them from being friends and doing business with Russia. For cheating them out of their hard-earned prosperity to secure our own. If Europe, Russia and China were able to work and do business undisturbed, it really wouldn't look good for us. This is not about political ideologies, but about economic interests. And for these economic interests, we are not fighting communism, but preventing, the capitalism of others. That is a huge difference. As has often been the case with empires, however, the elite then eventually becomes too greedy and too megalomaniacal. That is what has just happened to us and continues to happen. American excess. And not only excess, but also the willingness to irretrievably destroy the entire, very diverse, culture of Europe, but also to let our own country go to the dogs. It is the willingness of the already defeated elite to take the entire world down with them in their own demise. That's why many are fed up with us, because our ideals of freedom and justice only ever apply to ourselves and never to others. The American century is coming to an end. It will do us good to travel through a vale of tears and consider how we want to live and what role we want to play in the world. Now comes the time when we reflect on what once were our values and what is really important to us in life. +1 |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 80192053 Greece 07/01/2022 09:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Didn’t even mention true empires; Egypt, Roman, Greek, Chinese. All had same things in common while circling the drain; obsession with gheyness, pedoness, entertainment and debasing their currency. Quoting: MrBlonde This is the decadence that follows after the peak of culture has been passed. I had already mentioned some aspects of ethical and moral decay. However, our pathological self-image and the belief in our superiority could already be seen particularly well on 9/11. At that point, our end was already sealed. Can you still remember the mood in the country? The inconceivable had happened. We were vulnerable. Dozens of wars, with countless victims and destroyed existences. Countries whose livelihoods we destroyed. All no problem. After all, we were the leaders of the good guys. At least that's what the media said. Very many people were happy to believe that. Who doesn't want to be one of the good guys and the winners? Three collapsed buildings, that was too much for us. For that, the whole universe deserved to be set on fire. Out of revenge. And to show who is the boss. Back then, many people already realized the extent of our mental illness. And in the last twenty years our collective mental state has clearly not improved. Waking up from the delusion of not being able to do anything wrong at all because, after all, that is our definition of supremacy, that is a painful thing. And the delusion that you can now turn back the clock to the 'good old days' by simply blaming the symptoms of your own mental illness on others, that is the denial of reality by those ignoramuses who consider themselves conservatives. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83777731 United States 07/01/2022 11:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Life Cycle of Democracies Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83763052 There is a view among some historians that a democracy is an intrinsically unstable form of government: A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse...from the public treasury... The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years... And the cycle is surprisingly predictable: ...from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back again into bondage. -Alexander Tyler, 1750 Studies of the predictable decay of empires and cultures generally discern three primary aspects of their decline: Social Decay, Cultural Decay, and Moral Decay. The first, Social Decay, is characterized by the crisis of lawlessness, the loss of economic discipline, and the rise of bureaucracy. This is associated with Cultural Decay: the decline of education, the weakening of cultural foundations, and the loss of respect for tradition. All this is, of course, the result of Moral Decay: the rise of immorality, the decay of religious beliefs, and the subsequent devaluation of human life. [link to www.khouse.org (secure)] . |

With, seemingly, no hope to evolve? I could name quite a few that the world is probably better off without. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83780332 Is that your justification for installing corrupt puppet governments and stealing people's property. Because you think you're sophisticated? You of all people? Millions of Walmart-McDonalds-DollarTree-Americans live like animals after all, have no life skills whatsoever except finding the power button on the XBoX, the start button on the microwave and swiping their finger on their phone.... Anonymous Coward User ID: 83758024 Norway 07/03/2022 10:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The west is decades into the decline phase. It started in the mid 1960s, so the process has been going on for almost 60 years. Today the West is heavily endebted, has falling birthrates, increased number of disabilities due to psychiatric disorders and drug use. And there is also a skills shortage to fill important functions in the society, like IT and advanced industry production. The current and spreading woke-ideology will kill off what is left of rationality in this already broken civilization. I give the West 20 more years before there is a Lehman-like total collapse, that cannot be fixed. |

If you are going to have big ideas you are going to need better grammar. You need to work on your use of commas and remember that a sentence isn't a sentence without a verb. Thanks in advance, I look forward to more of your posts. “A grower of turnips or shaper of clay, a commot Farmer or a king--every man is a hero if he strives more for others than for himself alone.” Lloyd Alexander, The Castle of Llyr |
