I used to go up to get the spring water for my homemade prickly pear wine. When that stops ... While I maybe the end of the line.. these new young folks moving in will still have to navigate past the lifers every day. My guess is... They take comfort in the numbers. Population in my town about 30K and with surrounding towns 75K. Quoting: Room222 On my street we have a dozen older manufactured homes. All but 2 are lived in by the Owners. And have been for the last Twenty years or longer. One of only 2 are rentals. I personally know both of the owners. On one side of me is my friend and her mother. On the other is my topic of discussion. Today I watched 3 pickup trucks and two cars bring 7 sets of bed mattress along with the usual living and kitchen wares. Into a 3bedroom 1 and a half bath, single wide manufactured home. 7. as in Seven set's of beds! I talked to the owners brother last week. He said " we are moving from Phoenix, there is no water and it's too hot". Forewarned... "One River, Many Wells". And they be running dry. Mostly Liberal Propaganda and poorly run cities. There are some areas of the Phx metro are that might face some restrictions, but the Northern areas of the State will be affected also. The main concern is some of the Valley cities and Southern AZ areas reliance upon CAP water. In Peoria for instance, we have enough water stored underground to supply all the city's needs for 5 yrs. Plus we still have plenty of water from our normal sources. It's called "good planning". |

Thanks, deviation is no bother.. To answer is a challenge. But here it goes.. I moved here in 1996 as the result of falling in Love. To a local 3rdGen cattle hauler and business owner. After a few years into our relationship he became comfortable with describing to me experiences. Even to the point of illustrations. My being from and growing up with the evolution of Cape Canaveral and witnessing the Challenger horror, strange globes, I did not fathom. Nor believe.. ..However, I am a desert wanderer. Or was, aging and all.. I distinctly recall and express it once I arrived to work one morning. Of something I did understand. This was at a time when I choose to walk back and forth to work every day. I was a school bus driver. At about 5am ish, walking to work in the dark of winter my main concern were Javlina. But looking up as is common for me,I saw a shooting star.. metor..whatever. Except it suddenly stopped it's forward movement and reversed course at About a 45degree angle. Beyond my comprehension..an I spent years sailing off the FL coast. "People are stupid;they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true" |
