The engines produce 36,000 horsepower and provide 21,000 pounds of thrust, allowing the truck to reach speeds of more than 350 mph." Quoting: GLP Effect That sounds safe. They are awesome! I wish I could see them in person! Amazing! Amazing video! My daughter lived in San Diego for 6 years, and I visited often, but she moved away in 2016. I see the Red Arrows were there in 2019. Prior to that we did visit and shop at Miramar. (I have access to military bases.) Thank you for the beautiful video! Yes....the Red Arrows are quite impressive! Wow! The Red Arrows stopped at MCAS Miramar as a part of their 11-week, 25-show 2019 North American tour. This show is the farthest-west flying display in the 55-year history of the team. The team is flying two full demonstrations at MCAS Miramar, one each on Saturday September 28, and Sunday, September 29, 2019.Sep 30, 2019. (OP) User ID: 76388104 United States 07/02/2022 11:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lets be honest, if you watch that video without knowing someone died you wouldn’t even know anything went wrong. The people in the crowd seem unconcerned and apathetic they just saw a large scale explosion, like it isn’t big enough or something. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76417656 Pyrotechnics were part of the demonstration. I think most were confused as to what happened. “One of my children looked up and said, ‘Dad, was that part of the act?’ And I said ‘I don’t think so. This is bad.’ Right away, the P.A. announcer came on and said, ‘We’ve had an incident… our personnel are getting out there and working on it.'” [link to www.woodtv.com (secure)] Last Edited by nutmeg on 07/02/2022 11:58 PM |

(OP) User ID: 76388104 United States 07/03/2022 12:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The driver's father, Neal Darnell, posted this on Facebook: During today’s SHOCKWAVE Jet Truck performance at the Battlecreek Field of Flight Airshow, an accident occurred as a result of a mechanical failure on the Jet Truck. Regretfully, Chris Darnell, the driver, and my youngest son, passed away from his injuries at approximately 1:01 pm. No one else was involved. I will post more information as we get it. We will provide Funeral Arrangements sometime this week. We are so sad. Just one month ago Chris turned 40. He was so well loved by everyone who knew him. Chris so loved the Air Show business. He was “Living the Dream, “ as he said. Facebook page: Shockwave Jet Truck & Flash Fire Jet Trucks Last Edited by nutmeg on 07/03/2022 12:03 AM |

As the parachute from the truck deployed, the truck engulfed in flames and exploded. Quoting: nutmeg Photos here: [link to wwmt.com (secure)] .. An enormous truck traveling 300 to 350 mph ? It sounds dangerous before knowing about any explosions. Jet engines are made for the sky... Don’t see the benefit of the risks. Maybe it’s a man thing, but speeding enormous sized trucks ?? A racing boat would make more sense. Little children playing with big expensive toys. . Buckaroo Banzai! |
