I remember well in the 1970's all the poisoned "stag antlered" trees. That's something rarely seen now here in the UK. Just plastic everywhere and fly tipping on country lanes. The UK is awash with roadside garbage dumped from cars. We are rapidly turning into a third world shit-hole.

I remember, it was a big deal then. Propaganda pictures of forest treetops all burnt and dead, rabbit's & forest creatures with shouldering chemical burns.

Then there was the horror story's of people camping and the ACID RAIN would burn through the canvas tent & kill the baby melt everyone's faces off. They been at it for long time.

I think we still do get acid rain in heavily populated and industrial areas. I guess volcanic activity can produce sulphuric acid in the affected rain clouds.

Yep. had to put on a new shingle roof 2 times a year back then. We missed 1 time and it not only melted the shingles, but got down and ate through the wooden part of the roof. That was an expensive year. And dont get me started on the car paint.

I also remember growing up in Southern California skateboarding around at night and seeing the formation of black helicopters that were spraying the chemical malathion for the fruit flies down on our heads every night. Tptb told us to cover vehicles and bring pets indoors...But not to worry it wasn't harmful to people...

Sulphur dioxide smells like burnt matches. It's highly toxic to almost all animal and plant life. That's what was being sprayed back then to cause the "acid rain" phenomenon.
