The last several years it seems to have become shifted towards pro political posts, posts with incitory theme videos depicting violence, anti-leftists posts, anti-rightist posts, and news posts of questionable veracity.

Social media as a whole jumped the shark in 2016 due to Russian and Chinese troll farms, useful idiots, and nefarious algorithms which led to dangerous echo chambers, full of lies, propaganda, and extremism.

like life on the planet has gone down hill maybe....and this reflects that ?

I've posted about this topic before, which I think is greatly under reported and not discussed enough.

When the internet was early in its mainstream availability, it was mostly business minded and wealthy people who had PCs. You had to know the basics of DOS and programming to use and access things.

As things transitioned to the early 2000s, PCs were still 2-3k in price for most but were becoming more simplified in their useage with windows and cd roms.

But AROUND 2007-2012 the floodgates were opened, not only with cheap laptops but phones with net access. Soon, even poor and uneducated people could have 24/7 access to the internet.

If I had to estimate IQ brackets of pre 2000, 2000-2010, 2011-now of your average internet user... I'd say like 130, 115 and now 100.

Let's assume that's roughly accurate. Can you imagine a person who used to be on the net 20 years ago compared to what they see and hear now?

We are talking LITERAL RETARDS everywhere. Thinking and acting like what they do, say, feel is important.

I'd add to that an increase in both mental illness and trauma-based psychosis each decade and the internet has become a cess pool of people who honestly should not be allowed to speak publicly.

You are far more likely now, than 10 or 20 years ago, to be speaking with a sub 100 IQ person who may or may not be mentally ill with a possible personality disorder than an intelligent and well-functioning, above average IQ person.

It's a problem that very few want to talk about and it's getting worse each year.

I can understand why some good people had to step back from public eye to keep a target off their back. I can also understand why some might just let the stupid crazies take the front line and heat off of real info on the side. But darn, it is frustrating not to be able to have the good conversations, friendly interactions and information sharing that we used to have.

It is nuts, members I was friends with for decades all the sudden shun or reply with hateful insults just because I am an AC, but I have always been an AC, why such a sudden change that a small percentage of the forum, blue name gangs, waged war on the majority of the forum?
