Do you ever use the word ’finna’?

I think its a musical term.

This dindo make sense.

First heard finna in rap songs. But have met people that say…. I’m fixin to, or I’m fittin to do something. Finna is a derivative of fixing to or fitting to.

In the south we said we were "fixin' to do something.

Blacks corrupted it to "finna."

That's "gone" in Ebonics.

It's a slang, devolved version of the phrase "fixin ta" which devolved from "fixing to" which is another way to say "getting ready to"

It’s a reference to a stack of five bibles “The Fin” that people would swear on.

Used a lot when I was in juvie back in the 80’s.

They would always say “ You put that on the fin?” Or “man, I put that on the fin”

Juvie was an enlightening time, being in the maximum security juvie that had all the inner city kids. Having to shower with many black dudes I acm say the stereotype is false.

Matter of fact the biggest sick I saw was a white dude in high school gym class.

Remember seeing him again at a bar when I was 30, dude had the biggest Enzyte smile on his face, all the time.
