The spirit doesn’t possess anyone. It comforts and reminds.

The Spirit has comforted me for 21 years.

If the Spirit is not with you He will say he never knew you.

Wait for this event. If the pure 144K are not sealed yet then who else is worthy to be currently sealed? In the past most had hands laid on them or Christ breathed on them but this was from somebody who already had the HS.

Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Act 8:17 Then laid they [their] hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

I believe it's a process, and not at all what is taught in many 501 (c)(3) circuses.

I highly recommend reading sit, walk, stand and the normal Christian life by watchman Nee. These two books were what really made me feel the spirit strongly. Any time I feel the presence reduce, I go back to those books or others by Nee. The spirit can be stifled, or watered down, if you are doing things that make him withdraw. He is still there, but it is like you're creating layers of spirit proof padding and you cannot "hear" him. So you must do two things: increase your spiritual sustenance and decrease the worldly influences that create a dampening of the spirit. Often times we do not realize what we are doing to create the dampening, we must ask. He will tell you. I was told that my sense of humor was a problem once, I had learned to laugh at really dark things because when you have no hope in the world beyond fallible humans, you must laugh or cry. But when you walk with Christ, you realize the laughing is an extremely inappropriate thing to do at certain things. Mind you, God knows everything about you and does not require you to be fixed at once, you are a work in progress, and the most important work you will ever do is bring yourself to desire to do the will of God. It's a long process of trimming away the bad and replacing with good.

I am not well versed with the Bible because I am newly saved by God. No one put their hands on me, I'm not sure that I even knew anyone at the time who could feel the spirit as they were not living honestly with themselves or God. God needs no mediator if you have the desire to do his will. He comes through loud and clear on his own. You do not even need to read the Bible for him to reach you. But the Bible is the easiest way for most to put themselves in the right mind set to try to remove dampers. It took me a long time to find the right things, a lot of listening to the spirit. I tried many preachers and churches, and the spirit would slowly tell me why each one was false and fake. Watchman Nee really brings out the spirits presence because of the approval. So do other writers like Spurgeon, Nee, Tozer, and Murray. But Nee is the best for me.

I guess the important thing to realize is that you've heard him your entire life. Your subconscious is what science has labeled the spirit. The gut feelings, intuitions, the sudden epiphanies, they all came from the spirit. He dwells within every human, it is the work that Jesus came to do to give us all the opportunity to be saved from the disaster the devil created. He hears every thought you have and knows you. Inner dialogue is really a conversation with him, but most do not realize it.

I think you're looking for proof and conviction, which can only come from him. Make sure you are entirely honest, even with your doubts in your prayers. He does not like it when you lie, even to yourself. It's perfectly normal to say to him, hey, I am insecure about my faith in you, can you please help me? Literally the only source you can ever have to increase your faith is him. And he will absolutely provide.

Jesus is the Bread of Life. His Words bring Life to people who are suffering and sad.

His Words are needed when this world treats us like we are stupid for trusting in Jesus.

Weariness breaks people down. Believers get weary.
He watches to see if we turn to Him or wallow in self-pity.

At those times when it seems like He left us alone, remember that it is only a short test to see if we are willing to use His Words to overcome the despair.
He is allowing this test - teaching you to overcome and walk with Him on the Narrow Way.
To follow Him and do what He said.

Read His Words and listen - in your spirit.
"My sheep hear My voice; I know them, and they follow Me"
Jesus speaks to those who love Him.

"If you love Me, obey My Words"

Jesus is King.
His Kingdom is not of this world. Seek His Kingdom.
Read the 4 Gospels to find out what He expects of you.

"Follow Me". Jesus calls disciples.
Enter through the Narrow Gate - the strait & narrow Way.
Jesus IS The GATE. You must pass through Him.
He allows entrance ONLY - to His sheep. He knows each one.

Disciples devote themselves to Him and do not look back.
They want to finish the race - they strive to finish.

It's a life-long effort to follow Him - at first the flesh will resist. Overcoming takes much effort. Strive hard.
Become Born Again. For real!
He will give you The Comforter for the Narrow Path has sorrow.

It's the path that Jesus walked. Just you & Him. He leads.
Your family & friends may never understand your devotion to Jesus. He becomes everything to His disciples. They depend on Him for their needs.
They grow in spirit. They seek and find Truth.

Jesus said that few find this Narrow Path.
The majority of believers walk on the Wide Road that leads to destruction.
The Wide path seems right to them. So many are on it.
False teachers lead many astray. Jesus warned about them.

The situation we live in now is temporary.
The sadness we have now will not even be remembered.

Jesus is preparing a place - a spiritual/eternal home.
Hold on to Him. Talk to Him all day/night if you have to.

Hard struggles, here in this world are to be expected.

Jesus knows how bad it can get.
Ask the Holy Spirit to give you strength & power to overcome.
Sometimes you may lose your temper & get frustrated.
Submit to The Father. Humble yourself. Ask for help.
Jesus is merciful. He forgives a repentant heart.
Pray that you will be in God's perfect Will.
Triumph over your temper, tongue & flesh - the power you need is available in the Holy Spirit.

It is a struggle - do not give up.

The cost of following Jesus is too high for most. They are unable or unwilling do what He said;

-- Whosoever will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
The one who desires to save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for My sake shall save it.

To lose your life - give it up - is what you must do.
This is what Jesus calls His disciples to do.

To depart - to forsake - this world. Die to the flesh.
Give up ambitions. Say goodbye to worldly pleasures & friends. To refuse to listen to false teachings.
To reject "other voices" that try to lead you away.

Learn to listen to The Master. The Good Shepherd. The King.
Do what Jesus says. Hear His Words in your Spirit.

The deception in the world is seductive & attempts to mislead.
Stay close to Jesus.
Do not let down your guard or your spiritual armor.
If the enemy attacks, get back on your feet and stand.
Do not be tricked again. Stay away from arguing people.
Speak Truth. The Truth stands.

Few find the Narrow Way. Jesus said to "strive" to find it.
Find it! Walk with Jesus and do what He said.

Jesus IS The Way. The Way to everlasting Life.
Find HIM! Know Him and be sure that He knows you too.
An intimate relationship.
This is following Jesus - enduring to the end. Not an easy road. Depart from the church crowds and walk with Jesus.
The Words of Jesus are LIFE.

Thank the Holy Spirit for helping you abide in Jesus.
You'll grow, understand, learn and be led by Spirit of Truth who opens your eyes to spiritual understanding of The Word.

He comforts.
You'll know the comfort - even when you're stuck in the same hard situation, you can endure and be strong.
He makes a Way for you.

Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.

I believe OP needs to be water baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the HS. It doesn't always happen at baptism, sometimes later and never if you aren't truly a disciple.

Don't make yourself feel unworthy and lowly by saying you still sin. We all will sin, because we all are still learning to grow up to love. If we were perfect then we would not need to be here and we will be invisible.

Contrary to what most believe, God doesn't judge and punish us for sinning. God understands we are in the long process of learning, and making mistakes is part of learning. And so we too should not judge others by having the understanding that we all are learning at our own comfortable pace through free will. Good to keep in mind, successful business people will tell you that they learned the most from their failures and mistakes, not just by reading books on how to be successful.

Good to honor God and recite Bible scriptures for our comfort, but it is not until we sincerely and with pure intent embrace love for oneself and others including our enemies that we are truly in unity with God.

Pure intent meaning we sincerely love God because it is our innate passion and our true nature, without any thoughts of wanting God to reward us with personal benefits for our devotion.

Would believers in God still strongly embrace God if there was no guarantee of afterlife paradise? Do they only love God because they want something good in return?

And there will be some who advise you not to love the things of this Earth. That makes no sense. God meticulously designed and lovingly refined this planet for our comfort and joy while we are here in human form learning to find our true selves.

There is nothing wrong with making lots of money as long as it is made with good intention, honesty, integrity, and fairness. What is so bad with making money to buy a decent house to shelter our family in comfort and safety, or making more money to donate some to fund the construction of a new school in a poor village.

Making money only turns evil when we have bad intention and an out of control obsession that we willingly want to step on, deceive, harm, or even kill others to get it.

God is way more caring and understanding of us than what many people were told or taught.

I wrote you about watchman Nee. You might like to watch cs lewis doodle channel, go to the playlist and choose "on Christianity". If you don't know already, Lewis was one of the best Christian apologists who ever defended the faith. He started out atheist and gradually through reason discovered atheism makes no sense. The book " on Christianity" is very good too, but the guy doing the doodle channel has a gift straight from God. He delivers it so well.

One of the most important parts of being a Christian is being able to answer all the hard questions about our faith to ourselves. Then we can do it for others. But it makes the faith rock solid for the times when the storms of life beat us to hell. Churches and most people who believe never ever dare to look the questions in the eye because they're afraid of what it might mean(the answers aren't easy and it requires self examination, people want to continue being worldly). But God tells us to test everything.

Someone said not every human has the spirit within them. I'm sorry they do not think so. But even the satanic baby sacrificer at some point in their lives denied the holy spirit. We are all born with a universal sense of moral code that comes straight from the spirit, and through choices we stifle or edify it.

And for listening, look up Ravenhill. He is my most favorite, no nonsense preacher. Has an odd voice that takes getting used to though.
