A big part of it from my perspective is the ever decreasing quality of a public education. Ask your parents or grandparents what they had to go through to graduate. Take a high school proficiency test from the 1900s. Liberal school marm teachers don't want anyone to have hurt feelings, so instead of the dunce cap they teach to the lowest common denominator.

With the influx of kids who don't speak English and whose parents have no interest in preparing those kids to speak English, schools have dropped their standards into the toilet.

Another big part of it is poor nutrition. Have a look at one of the labels for these energy drinks glued into these kids hands. Nothing but sugar, caffeine and a couple mega doses of vitamins. Kids eat these energy supplement bars that are probably half shredded Chinese newspaper. Don't even get started on the baby formula shortage; women don't breastfeed anymore? In any event, these kids are drowning themselves in simple carbohydrate calories but starved for actual nutrition. Many of them are weak, flabby and completely out of shape.
